Richmond Hill, NY — The The Coalition for Hemophilia B (CHB) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a New York State Senate Proclamation recognizing 35 years of service to individuals and families affected by hemophilia B.
The proclamation was presented by New York State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr., honoring CHB’s long-standing commitment to patient education, advocacy, community support, and improving access to care for people living with hemophilia B across the nation.
Founded 35 years ago, The Coalition for Hemophilia B has grown into a nationally respected patient advocacy organization dedicated to empowering patients and caregivers through education, leadership development, and nonpartisan advocacy. CHB’s work focuses on meeting individuals and families where they are, supporting them through every stage of life, and ensuring patient voices are represented in healthcare and policy conversations.
“This proclamation is deeply meaningful to our community,” said Kim Phelan, CEO of The Coalition for Hemophilia B. “For 35 years, our mission has been rooted in listening to patients, supporting families, and strengthening the hemophilia B community. We are honored to receive this recognition from Senator Addabbo and grateful for his continued support of patient advocacy and community-based organizations.”
Senator Addabbo recognized CHB’s impact not only within New York State, but nationwide, highlighting the organization’s role in advancing awareness, education, and advocacy for a rare and often misunderstood condition.
As CHB marks this milestone anniversary, the organization remains committed to expanding its educational programs, strengthening advocacy efforts, and continuing its work to improve quality of life and access to care for individuals living with hemophilia B.
