Welcome to Hemophilia B Monthly: December 2023
  Wishing everyone a warm and loving winter season! We hope you spend time with those you love, reflecting on what 2023 has brought you. We can't wait to see you in 2024!   

 

Hemophilia B is sometimes called Christmas disease after Stephen Christmas, who was the first person diagnosed with the condition in 1952.

We can't wait to see everyone in Dallas, TX for another incredible Symposium!! 

There is a travel scholarship available for the Annual Symposium! The scholarship will pay for airfare, hotel, and transportation to and from the airport. The deadline is January 15, 2024.

If you can't join us in-person, fret not, we will also host a virtual option!

☃️🥰 Our hearts are bursting with gratitude! You're invited to our annual Gingerbread House Party & Trivia! There will be prizes and an optional contest!! If you would like to participate, please email Contact@hemob.org and register using the button below  (you will need to provide your own gingerbread house kit).

Important note: Please do not decorate your gingerbread house before the call. You may assemble the house, but this is a decorating workshop and we will all decorate together, at the same time.

Messages From the Eye of the Hurricane:
Interview with Jennifer Lynne by Renae Baker

They say it’s calm in the eye of a hurricane. You might even be able to see the sunshine from within it. However, weather experts strongly advise that one continue to shelter in place and prepare for the worst because, circling that eye is the strongest part of the hurricane, and within seconds those devastating winds may be upon you. Check out this interview with Jennifer Lynn, who lives in a condo that has been in the eye of two hurricanes, on page 32 of our latest newsletter.

World AIDS Day, December 1, serves as a platform to illuminate the genuine experiences of individuals currently living with HIV, concurrently celebrating the strength, resilience, and diversity prevalent in the communities most impacted. This day is an opportunity to foster the leadership required to envision a future where HIV no longer hinders anyone's life journey. We hope you were able to take a moment to reflect!
