a space built for men living with hemophilia B and dads raising the next generation.

Session Topic
Leaving Our Footprints: Building Community and Giving Back

Community Co-Hosts: Carl & Wayne

Conversation Guide: Jamie Buhler

Each Living B Men's Rap Session will begin with a Conversation Guide who will help introduce the topic and share insights for approximately 30 minutes. The focus of the program is not a presentation, but a supportive conversation where men can share experiences, ask questions, learn from one another, and build meaningful connections.

The hemophilia B community is built not only through shared experiences, but through what we choose to share with one another. For men who have spent years navigating hemophilia B, there is tremendous value in the lessons learned along the way, from advocating for yourself and making treatment decisions to navigating relationships, family, work, setbacks, and the everyday realities of living with a bleeding disorder. Those experiences can become an important source of knowledge, encouragement, and connection for other men and for the generations coming behind us.

This conversation will explore what it means to be part of a community and the many ways men can give back, whether through mentorship, sharing experiences, volunteering, advocacy, simply showing up for someone else, or creating space for younger men to find their own voices. Participants will reflect on what they have received from the hemophilia B community, what they have learned that may be worth passing on, and the kind of impact they hope to leave for others. Giving back does not have to mean doing something big. Sometimes the most meaningful contribution begins with connection, conversation, and being willing to share what you know.

Jamie Buhler is an entrepreneur, speaker, and experienced facilitator who has spent more than 20 years working with communities and groups across Canada and internationally. Born and raised in rural Manitoba and a graduate of Horizon College and Seminary, Jamie is known for his relaxed, engaging approach, using humor, storytelling, and everyday experiences to help people connect, reflect, and find practical ways to create positive change.

Jamie also brings a deeply personal connection to the bleeding disorders community, having lost a family member to hemophilia. That experience informs his understanding of the importance of community, connection, and the impact we can have on the people who come after us. Whether speaking to a large audience or facilitating an intimate conversation, Jamie's goal is for participants to leave feeling connected, encouraged, and inspired to take meaningful action in their own lives and communities.
